TruckEast & GMA tie-up Scania deal
Ipswich-based GMA, warehousing and distribution specialists, have recently added 20 Scania trucks to their previously all-Volvo fleet.
The first 10 trucks, supplied by Scania Dealer TruckEast, have already been delivered, with 10 more to follow in early January, TruckEast’s Stowmarket and Felixstowe Dealer points will look after the trucks.
This is great news for both companies. GMA have not replaced any of their existing vehicles, but have added 20 Scania trucks to their 50-strong fleet to cope with an upturn in business. This is in line with their policy of continuous investment in new equipment. For TruckEast, this was a real conquest deal as GMA had never run Scanias before, so this is a chance to demonstrate the reliability and efficiency of the Scania 480 6x2 Topline.
GMA Sales Director Jim Sheridan has been extremely pleased with the service from TruckEast so far. In a letter to John Biggin, TruckEast Managing Director, he said: “On behalf of GMA can I congratulate you and thank you for your response and efforts in having these 10 trucks on the road within 10 days of order. Please pass on our best wishes and thanks to all the staff involved.”
John Biggin was optimistic about the future between the two companies: “It is encouraging to be able to work with a business who are expanding, despite current economic conditions. This deal gives TruckEast a great opportunity not only to showcase the quality and efficiency of the Scania trucks, but to deliver an excellent aftersales service to keep these vehicles as productive as possible.”
