TruckEast Annual Customer Golf Days

On 22nd May 2009 TruckEast held the first of its Annual Customer Golf Days at Stowmarket Golf Club where 60 customers and staff enjoyed lunch, followed by an 18 hole Stableford event, with dinner and prize-giving in the evening.

Winners of the Stableford – Best Score were:
1st Prize: Gordon MacLean from Prior Diesel
2nd Prize: Karl Bowden from Task Force Movement & Storage
3rd Prize: Shaun Bartrum from Bartrum Storage & Haulage

The second event was held on 4th June 2009 at the Wellingborough Golf Club at Harrowden Hall where we welcomed 66 customers and staff. The morning competition was a 9 hole Texas Scramble, followed by lunch and an 18 hole Stableford in the afternoon. After an entertaining day of golf, guests then sat down for a three course evening meal and prize-giving.

Team winners of both the 9 hole Texas Scramble and the 18 hole Stableford were Jon Bingley (Rose Plant Hire), Nick Page (Duston Oils), Mick Lingard (RCS) and John McKay (TruckEast).

The individual prizes for the 18 hole Stableford were awarded to:
1st Prize: Steve Coles (Carr Bros UK)
2nd Prize: Nick Page (Duston Oils)
3rd Prize: Gary Carroll (Giles Insurance Brokers)

Other prize-winners on the day included Mike Brooks (TNT UK), Sean Warren (S W Wreford & Sons), Terry Bray (NFT Distribution) and Matt Castle (TruckEast).

The Charity Putting Competition was won by Gary Vasey (TruckEast) and £200 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. A further £900 was collected, by way of donations from customers and staff after the Directors’ PA, Rosemary Cleary completed the 5 km ‘Race for Life’ in aid of Cancer Support.

Many customers have subsequently contacted TruckEast, thanking the Directors and staff for the superb and well-organised event, the excellent choice of venues, with their beautiful settings and splendid food, together with marvellous company throughout the day.
