Customer Visit to Scania Factory in Sweden
On June 3rd 2008, 12 TruckEast customers and staff visited the Scania factory in Södertälje, Sweden.
The day commenced with a visit to the Scania Driving grounds and test track. During this part of the day a total of 14 vehicles were made available for test drive purposes and included Tractor unit and trailer combinations up to 65,000 kgs GTW, Drawbar Combinations up to 25 metres long and a GTW of 65,000 kgs. A number of smaller combinations are also available down to an Urban Articulated Tractor unit and Trailer. This was followed by a visit to the main Factory production line where upon a comprehensive tour and explanation of the operation of the facility was provided. The following day incorporated a cultural tour of the city of Stockholm, which included visits to the many interesting historical buildings and museums prior to the return flight to the UK. “What a fabulous trip, thank you so much for your kind hospitality, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It has to be the best business trip I've ever been on. I was very impressed with all things Scania and seeing behind the scenes like that really gives you confidence in the product and back-up.Great trip, great product, great food and some lovely people”, said Emma Ayres, Managing Director for The Bennie Group. Attendees included, Graham Butler and Mark Garner from Camden PLC Ltd, Geoff King from James Kemball Ltd, Ralph Morton from Ralph Morton Limited, Paul Abbott and Ian Beattie from Knights of Old, Emma Ayres from The Bennie Group and Ian Devenish from TMC Ltd. TruckEast Limited attendees included John Biggin (Managing Director), David Hall (Sales Director), David Beecroft (Fleet Sales and Business Development Director) and Richard Bowers from Scania (Great Britain) Limited.

| | 2007-04-16 New Ownership For TruckEast TruckEast Limited, the Scania dealer for East Anglia, will be under new ownership from 1st April 2007 following an offer to purchase by a management team from within the Scania organisation. The new team will be led by John Biggin, who leaves Keltruck Limited, where he has been Managing Director. John’s partners are David Hall, Sales Director for TruckEast, and Simon Hobson, currently Keltruck’s Finance Director. Read more
