GRS900 12+2 speed
  12+2-speed range-splitter gearboxes  
   
 
Two versions of this range-splitter are available.

One has overdrive top and the other has direct drive top.

The direct drive gearbox can be specified with any 6-cylinder or V8 engine, 340 to 580 hp. It is designed for optimised economy and is highly successful in all long-distance, regional distribution and heavy construction applications.

The overdrive gearbox is for the Euro 4 620 engine when the truck is used with gross weights exceeding 44 tonnes, or in combination with any engine if hub reduction rear axles are needed. Compared to the direct-drive 12+2-speed, it has higher torque capacity in addition to its overdrive.

Both these range-splitter gearboxes offer 12 ratios with the addition of two extra-low crawler ratios.

The gearboxes comprise a three-speed main section, with a range-change and splitter. This combination provides the 12 road-going gears.

For high-speed  work, the choice of ratios makes it a simple matter for relaxed driving, even if the terrain imposes frequent shifting. Maintaining road speed with engine revs well inside the green band couldn’t be simpler. Invariably, preselection using the splitter followed by declutching is all the effort that’s needed.

Choose one of these 12+2-speed gearboxes because you want outstanding economy over all types of road. If the loads are heavy and if the terrain varies from flat and straight to twisting and undulating,  there isn’t a better option.

Both these range-splitter gearboxes offer the options of a Scania Retarder and Scania Opticruise.

The introduction of new, more compact gearboxes will offer several beneficial improvements for operators and drivers.
